Dear WAMES Members,
In a time when challenges are many and expectations are high, it's nice to know that along with the resources of WAMES there is a safety net of talent and knowledge within the membership that you can draw from so that you can stay at the top of your game. We appreciate your involvement and want to be sure you continue to take advantage of all that WAMES offers by renewing your membership in WAMES for 2009.
In these tough economic times we believe a membership in WAMES is a valuable investment in your company’s success and your professional development which will provide a significant return on investment.
Our mission is to make your company more successful every year. We hope to accomplish this by providing exceptional resources, education, networking, fun and tools to assist you with your success.
WAMES was successful this year in helping to delay Competitive Bidding and we are working now to repeal the 36 month oxygen cap. A collective voice is more effective so we encourage you to renew your membership in WAMES.
Below are just a few of the benefits you will receive by continuing your membership in 2009.
• Education and professional development: Seminars for 2009 include the Respiratory Seminar on March 12 and the Annual Conference and Trade Show on September 20 - 22 as well as a continuation of the free Networking Sessions. We will also offer CEU’s again for most of these events.
• The New Points Program: You will receive points for your participation in WAMES activities in 2008 that you can use in 2009 for discounted educational sessions or your membership renewal!
• Committees: Access to joining our various committees, including Medicare, Medicaid, Legislative, Rehab and Respiratory. You can join them or contact their members with questions. The committees are an excellent source of information and networking with colleagues.
• Our member Q & A: You can email a question to the WAMES office which is then sent to the entire membership. The responses are collected, compiled and sent back out to the membership. All is done on an anonymous basis. This has been a very popular benefit. Each Q & A summary has been posted to the WAMES web site in the members only section.
• Medicaid & Medicare: The Association has developed a uniquely positive relationship with Medicare and Medicaid carriers. This has enabled us to advocate on behalf of our members. We have participated in the process of defining HCPC codes, establishing allowables and interpreting new procedures and guidelines. Our members receive information from these carriers before non-member companies due to our liaisons to these organizations.
• Newsletter: Free subscription to the WAMES newsletter with industry updates, educational articles and new product information.
• Legislative Activities: WAMES is directly responsible for bringing the voice of the Wisconsin DME provider to the attention of numerous federal, state, and regulatory agencies. Our input has made a difference on a variety of issues. WAMES sends representatives to Washington and Madison to talk with legislators on important issues affecting our members.
• Financial Benchmarking Survey: You can participate and/or purchase our annual benchmarking survey. It is an excellent tool to compare salaries, benefits and other financial information from other DME companies
• Annual Convention, Trade Show & Golf Outing: You can participate in this major event held each year in September. There are opportunities to learn, network and participate in the golf outing and the other new activities.
We will be sending out the dues renewal forms soon with your “WAMES Member Rewards Point Program” point balance and information on how to use them.
On behalf of the WAMES Board of Directors and staff, we wish you a joyous holiday season and we sincerely thank you for your continued membership. We look forward to honoring the past and moving toward the future.
Best Regards,
Ann
