Dear WAMES Members and Interested Parties,
Mark Your Calendars for a WAMES Network Strategy Session on the recent Medicare final ruling Medicare Payment for Home Oxygen Equipment 42 CFR Parts 414 and 484. The session will be held on Thursday, January 18th from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Country Springs Hotel in Waukesha, Wisconsin.
Kelly J. Riley, CRT, RCP Director of the National Respiratory Network of The MED Group has been engaged to moderate the meeting.
The release of the final ruling confirms the proposed changes to Medicare’s long standing model for oxygen reimbursement. Medicare beneficiaries will now assume ownership of oxygen equipment on the first day that begins the 36th continuous month of rental. The ruling also defines the six new and broad categories for oxygen equipment as well as their corresponding reimbursement rates.
The session will focus on clarifying and interpreting the final rule. Due to the complexity of the ruling and the broad scope of changes to the existing policy, attendees are encouraged to review the comprehensive ruling in advance of the session. Questions for the session or suggestions regarding areas for discussion may be sent in advance to WAMES in writing, by telephone, via the WAMES web site or by email to Ann Barrett.
